Biography

Originally from Manchester, Oliver graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2013 having studied timpani and percussion under David Hockings, Matt Perry, Adrian Bending, Andy Smith, Ralph Salmins and Anthony Kerr.

Whilst at college and since graduating, Oliver has been fortunate enough to perform and record with some of the UK’s leading orchestras and ensembles including the Hallé, English National Opera, Opera North, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonietta and Manchester Concert Orchestra.

Alongside orchestral playing, Oliver is also very passionate about the drums and plays regularly around London and Manchester with various groups and ensembles. He also had the opportunity to play on-stage drums for a two month run of Nina Kristofferson’s Billy Holiday Story at Charing Cross Theatre in London’s West End in 2013.

What is your earliest musical memory?
Playing drums along to Beatles records in my house, which I still regularly do now!

If you could play another instrument, what would it be and why?
Bass – you can play many different styles of music, which is what I love about percussion.
