Biography

My musical journey began when I joined the music school in my hometown, Katowice, and received cello lessons for the first time. As I progressed, though I enjoyed learning my solo repertoire, I always most looked forward to the orchestral rehearsals on Monday afternoons. My enthusiasm was noted by teachers, who put me forward for exchange projects in Germany, United Arab Emirates and Luxembourg.

In 2018 I moved to London to study at the Royal College of Music where I was a grateful recipient of the Audrey Piggott Award and the ABRSM Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award. There I had the pleasure of performing under the baton of conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Sakari Oramo and Martyn Brabbins. Moreover, I was fortunate to meet three wonderful friends who shared my love of chamber music, and together we founded the Morassi Quartet. Most recently we performed a recital in the Elgar Room, Royal Albert Hall and made our international debut at the ‘Muzyka u Źródeł’ Festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

I was grateful to be selected for the English National Opera Evolve Scheme 2021/22 and I have since performed with the ENO as an extra. Other highlights of my orchestral career include playing with the London Symphony Orchestra, attending sit-ins with the Philharmonia Orchestra and participating in an orchestral recording project at FAME’S Institute in Skopje, Macedonia.

Aside from performing, I have enjoyed teaching, which includes tutoring private students as well as orchestral sections and chamber groups. Besides music I love to work with dogs, read murder mystery books and explore other countries.

I am excited to start a new chapter as a member of Sinfonia Smith Square!
