Ben Collyer, Sinfonia Smith Square's Organ Fellow, explores a world of instrumental timbres.

This programme, curated in collaboration with Guzheng player Kang Yang, spans centuries and genres, from the quiet introspection of Duruflé’s Sicilienne to the radiant sonority of Cecilia McDowall’s Church Bells Beyond the Stars.

Florence Price’s enchanting An Elf on a Moonbeam offers a moment of playful delicacy, while Vierne’s luminous Clair de lune casts an impressionistic glow. The concert closes with a brand new composition – a Meditation for Guzheng and Organ, introduced by Kang Yang.

This is a rare opportunity to hear instruments in unexpected, thrilling conversation.
