Eliza and Stan Talman grew up in Somerset and picked up cornet and percussion respectively in their local brass band in Frome.
Since then they’ve both come to London to study their instruments at rival conservatoires: Eliza at the Royal Academy of Music, and Stan at the Royal College of Music, where he is currently in his final year.
Together they have performed in the Budleigh Salterton music festival, the Frome festival, and in Eliza’s final academy recital! Stan is a regular member of the drumline: Box 9, and works as a freelance orchestral percussionist in and around London, whilst Eliza is in the Sinfonia Smith Square Fellowship this year; she’s been performing in Smith Square Hall regularly since October (a highlight being Handel’s Messiah with the Parliament Choir in November).
Outside of music they are both very creative and have set up an instagram page @talmans_makin_stuf to showcase and sell their handmade crocheted goods by Eliza, and silver jewelry by Stan! The repertoire for this concert consists of arrangements and originals that show off every angle of their musicianship, technical prowess, and personalities.
