An organ recital featuring a fully German programme to match the Klais organ of Sinfonia Smith Square.
It begins with J.S. Bach’s energetic Prelude and Fugue in G major, followed by Johann Pachelbel’s subtle Ciacona in F minor. After this is Paul Hindemith’s 1st Organ Sonata, which uses many baroque techniques, making this work almost anti-romantic in style. This is followed by two serene pieces from Sigfrid Karg-Elert’s impressionistic collection ‘Cathedral Windows’. The programme in concluded with Max Reger’s tumultuous Introduction and Passacaglia in D minor.
