Biography

When I was 5 years old, I attended an open house at my conservatory in Besançon. From that day on, the cello became my entire life and felt like an obvious choice. Nothing made me want more than to become a cellist in the future. My parents weren’t musicians, but it was through my three older brothers that the tradition of attending the conservatory was established. Fortunately, my parents have always supported us in this path and passion.

I started playing the cello the following year. Much later, at 17, my desire to travel and discover new cultures led me to pursue my studies outside of France, moving to Belgium. I studied at the conservatories in Brussels with Marie Hallynck and in Mons with David Cohen, and then at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, still with David Cohen.

Throughout my studies, I had the opportunity to collaborate with numerous renowned artists and institutions, which allowed me to gain valuable experiences and provided me with the tools needed to develop artistically in my own way and become the artist I am.

Today, I have a particular interest in multicultural projects. In 2022, I founded my company, Europe Cellists, which aims to organize musical events across Europe to offer emerging artists the chance to perform on stage and connect beyond cultures and nationalities, performing concerts together. I believe that stage experience is fundamental in the quest to become an artist true to oneself. We will embark on our first concert tour in Brussels with 6 cellists performing J.S. Bach’s 6 Cello Suites.

In a very different vein, I had the opportunity to be trained in artistic mediation by the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, which led me to co-create the collective Fabulo to make opera accessible to all. Fabulo is dedicated to creating participatory operas that engage audiences from all walks of life. By involving communities in the creative process, we aim to demystify opera and bring it to a broader audience, making it a living, breathing art form that everyone can relate to.

Finally, in recent years, I have been performing in recitals, usually with piano. These performances allow me to play and interpret pieces from the great cello repertoire in a more traditional way, while always striving to create a shared experience between the artist and the audience.

Through all my projects, my goal is to contribute to the reinvention of classical music, ensuring it remains vibrant, with multicultural, shared, and inclusive experiences for our world. I believe that my art can serve as a reminder of the fundamental value of peace. I hope that my vision of music and how I perceive it can create meaningful, multicultural experiences that inspire both artists and audiences alike.
