Space: Smith Square Hall

A beautiful and versatile concert hall with outstanding acoustics.

We have been welcoming musicians and music lovers to Smith Square Hall (formerly St John’s Smith Square) since 1969. From orchestral concerts to choirs, chamber ensembles to school performances, our venue, complete with two Steinway grand pianos and a Klais pipe organ, offers a versatile performance space with an exceptional acoustic.

We offer different types of concert hire depending on your requirements. Public concert hires are included within our season of events, with a bespoke website listing. For private concert hire, all ticketing is handled by the hirer, and the concert will remain separate from our calendar of events.

Venue Capacity

Our standard seated capacity is 440 (324 on the floor, 116 in the gallery). On occasion, we can increase the capacity to 600. All seating capacity options are reduced if stage extensions are required.

Performances requiring up to 100 people in a choir, or 50 in an orchestra, will not affect the Hall’s capacity. For any performances larger than this, seating capacity will be reduced.

Please contact info@sinfoniasmithsquare.org.uk for information on availability and rates. If you would like to apply for a Public Concert hire, please send us your proposed programme, artists, and information about your organisation within your initial email.

All concert hires will require the completion of our hire packs (available upon request), and signing of a venue hire agreement.
